Howard Plummer, Senior Pastor

Howard Plummer has served as the Senior Pastor of HCN since 1995.   Howard is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University and Fuller Theological Seminary.  He identifies himself as a preaching pastor.  He loves the written and living Word, the mission of God, and people.

Howard is married to Anna, a pediatric/post-op nurse.  They have four children: Kelly and her husband, Roger; Brady and his wife, Michelle.  Kelly and Roger have one son, Rhett.  Brady and Michelle have three children: Kennedy, Leyton, and Nolan.  They all live in Middle Tennessee, attend and serve at HCN, and eat Sunday lunch together. Carol Waller, Executive Pastor

Carol Waller serves as Executive Pastor at HCN.   In this role, she oversees all administrative and operational aspects of the church to ensure the vision & mission of HCN are accomplished.  She is an Ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene and a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University and Vanderbilt University.    She is a native of Middle Tennessee.

Carol is married to Michael Waller and they have four children: Anna, Sara, Becca, and Lucas.  Michael is an electrical engineer at REI in Cookeville.  They have raised their children at HCN and consider it a privilege to serve in their home church. Email

Hunter Steinmetz, College and Senior High Pastor

Hunter Steinmetz serves as the high school and college pastor at HCN.  Hunter is a child of HCN. He is an Ordained Elder in the church of the Nazarene and a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University with a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry.  He began an internship with the NextGen Team in 2013 that led to him becoming the middle school pastor in 2014.  In the spring of 2015, he became the high school pastor.  Hunter is a mission-minded, discipleship-driven, and Spirit-led follower of Christ and calls his students to be the same. Jennifer Neely, Middle School Pastor

Jennifer “Jenn” Neely serves as LiveWire Middle School Pastor. Having been a part of Hermitage since her young adult days, Jenn comes to us from a lengthy career at Trevecca Nazarene University. Her extensive career at TNU included working with students to reach their full educational, spiritual, emotional and life excellence. She brings high energy, deep faith, higher education and a multitude of talents and skills with her as she follows God’s leading into full-time ministry with grades 6-8. Jenn is married to Kris and is momma to Wyatt and Benton.¬†¬†Email

Ramón Gonzalez, Pastor of Hispanic Ministries

Ram√≥n leads HCN’s Hispanic Congregation.¬† He is a gifted communicator with a heart for evangelism.¬† Ramon desires that our Hispanic neighbors find HCN to be a place where they can worship and be discipled in Christ.¬† His is married to Alma Rosa and dad to Diana and Isaac.¬†Email

Sam Green, Worship Pastor

Sam Green has served as Pastor of Worship at HCN since 2004.  He oversees the preparation of the weekly and seasonal worship music for the choir and the band.   As a professor at Trevecca Nazarene University, Sam currently serves as Director of the Center for Worship Arts and Director of Undergraduate Research.  Sam has an  earned doctorate in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University and an Advanced Certificate in Worship Studies from the Robert Webber Institute for Worship Studies.

Sam is married to Keli. They have three daughters and two sons-in-law: Isabella, Anna-Laura and Cody Garrow, and Sophie and Topher Davison.  Keli is the Performance Improvement Coordinator at Centennial Medical Center. Email 

Mica Mitchell, Preschool Director

Mica Mitchell has served as the Lamb’s Club Preschool Director since August 2016. Her husband, Dustin, became a member of HCN as teenager and they began attending together shortly after they were married. Mica is originally from Louisville, KY, but moved to Nashville in 2011 after completing her master’s at the University of Louisville. In addition to working with preschoolers and their families at HCN, she also works as a speech language pathologist at a local pediatric therapy clinic. Mica thoroughly enjoys working with preschoolers, providing them a safe and friendly environment to begin learning about the love of God. She is the mother to two daughters, Carter and Elowyn. Email
